Trips away
Club trips are organised twice a month to various places in the UK. North and south Wales, the Lake District, the Peak District and Cornwall are typical venues. There are trips to Scotland at New Year and Easter. We stay at camp sites or bunk houses as the Club does not have its own hut. In addition members often informally arrange trips for other weekends and longer afield.

At home
The club meets twice a month in a central London pub. The second of these meets usually features a talk by members or invited speakers. We also meet regularly at London's climbing walls. Mountain biking, seaside walks, and other social gatherings take place frequently.

Membership
Joining the club gives you access to all our organised activities and a wealth of like minded people to meet and climb with. It also includes affiliation to the British Mountaineering Council and its third party liability insurance.

Club information

The Rockhoppers have been an active and sociable part of the London based climbing scene since 1954. We have had a vast array of climbers and walkers pass through our ranks over the years and we still boast a membership of over 100, a very large proportion of whom are active participants throughout the year.

Our members cover the full spectrum of Mountaineering from Lakeland hill walking to Andean Mountain climbing, top roping at Harrison's to 'E' numbers on Table Top Mountain, to mention but a fraction of what we get up to.

We exist to bring together people interested in hill walking, rock climbing and mountaineering, and to provide opportunities to participate in these activities. We are a very sociable and friendly club, with members from a wide variety of backgrounds who don't just talk about climbing all day long.

Like most well established clubs we have a formal constitution which lays out what we're here for and how we run our committee, accounts and that sort of thing. Follow the CONSTITUTION link to read it in full.

Our Annual General Meeting is held in October of each year. The primary function is to elect a new committee and decide on the meets list for the following year.
