On the Walking Social we will be running an "Introduction to Navigation" walk for up to 6 club members who are beginners at navigation.
You will meet at Shalford station at 10:15, similar to the rest of the people on the social, but go off in a separate group for an introduction to the map and its use in lowland navigation. You will also visit open access land and be introduced to techniques you might use on mountain or moorland terrain. The route will be 10-15km long and finish at the pub with the main social.
The club will provide compasses and printed maps, but if you happen to have the proper map (OS Explorer 145) please bring it.
This intro walk is suitable for complete novices wanting an introduction to navigation before building on their skills on weekend meets.
Sunday 13th April only - ignore the 14th in the dates.
