On 14 June, we'll be doing a Social Walk along the Seven Sisters. A 13-mile ramble from Seaford to Eastbourne (both in East Sussex), with stunning views of white chalk cliffs, it is arguably the classic English coastal walk, and only a stone's throw from London. On a sunny Saturday in June, it is guaranteed to be glorious.

The plan is to leave London on the 9.24am train from London Victoria, arriving into Seaford at 10.48am. The walk should take 4-5 hours, including a lunch break - traveling from west to east, to take full advantage of the views. We'll then return to London Victoria from Eastbourne by train. (Please note that although the start and finish are separate stations, there are cheaper ways to get there than buying two single tickets - such as buying an off-peak day return to Seaford via Lewes, and a separate single ticket from Eastbourne to Lewes.) If you'd prefer to drive, please get in touch to agree a suitable rendezvous.

The walk is easy going, with long, gentle ascents and descents, and some shorter, steeper sections in places. Conditions are generally good, and navigation is simple - keep the sea on your right and don't stop until you get to Eastbourne. Equipment requirements are minimal - walking boots or trail running shoes, water, a hat, jumper, raincoat and sunscreen. Bring sandwiches, or stop at the cafe in Birling Gap, just over the half-way mark, to pick up provisions, and then pop to the pub at the end.
