Eligibility

Rockhoppers is open to people over the age of 18 - most of our members live or work in South East England, but people living elsewhere are welcome to join.

BMC Membership

As a member of the Rockhoppers you will become a Club member of the BMC with the benefits listed above.

Please note that it may take up to 2 months after joining the club to receive details of your BMC membership - this is because your application to become a member of the BMC is not automated, and has to be done by the volunteers who run the club. If you need your BMC membership quickly (for example to use BMC Travel Insurance) you might wish to consider purchasing Individual membership directly from the BMC.

Membership costs

Membership costs £35 per year. All memberships are renewable on the 31st of October each year. New members joining after June each year pay a reduced rate. We also offer a discounted rate of £18 to unemployed members. To claim this, sign up as a member but do NOT set up payment. Then contact the Membership Secretary via the form on the website for advice on how to pay the reduced membership fee.

To reduce administration overheads Rockhoppers prefers members to pay their membership fees using Direct Debit. If you can't pay via Direct Debit please contact the Membership Secretary to discuss other options.

Once your membership has been processed you will be sent our introductory information and added to our email list. You will also be able to access the members' section of the website, which contains an online directory of members and full details about the meets we offer.

Meet us before joining

Prospective members are welcome to come and meet us prior to joining. Come along to one of our social evenings at a pub in Central London.

Or you could meet us at a climbing wall - we're usually at the Castle on Tuesday evening; to arrange a meet-up, contact us via Facebook or send the Climber's Rep a message via the Contact page).
