Our next social walk is on Saturday 6th December, walking along the Thames Path from Richmond to Vauxhall.
We will be following a route along the Thames Path from Richmond Station winding our way along the river until we get to Vauxhall, where we'll stop for some mulled wine or a beer...potentially on a boat....so bring your Christmas Jumpers and Reindeer Antlers, for a gentle seasonal walk through the best of South West London!
Our meeting point is Richmond Station at 9.15am.
Route: Approximately 14 mi / 22 km long, the walk sets off to the Richmond riverside before then meandering along the river past Ham House and then Kew Gardens, before then passing Putney, Wandsworth and Battersea Park and Power Station.
Transport:
Those taking public transport from London can get the District Line to Richmond Station, key interchanges include Blackfriars Station for Thameslink, and Victoria for those coming via Southern or Southeastern Trains.
We don't recommend driving, as it's a one-way walk so you'll need to get public transport from Central London back to your car. If you must, there is paid parking at Richmond station car park, but this may be busy.
Gear:
Walking boots/shoes recommended (the path between Richmond and Putney can sometimes be a little muddy!), warm clothes, waterproofs, water, food (lunch and snacks).
Refreshments and amenities:
There are toilets and a Costa coffee shop at Richmond Station. There are Cafes onroute, and we can potentially have a stop at a Cafe on Putney Riverside which we will pass around halfway through the walk, there are also public toilets in Wandsworth Park and in Battersea Park. There are a few pubs in Vauxhall, which we can choose to stop in at the end of the walk...however, depending on space we may be able to finish with drinks on a bar / boat.
