We're staying at Heathy Lea, the Oread Mountaineering Club hut. Heathy Lea is in the Peak District on the Chatsworth Estate just outside Baslow, making it well placed for rock climbing, walking and mountain biking. The Derbyshire gritstone edges of Birchen, Chatsworth and Gardom’s edges are within walking distance. Other gritstone edges and limestone climbing areas are all a short drive away. The Robin Hood and Wheatsheaf pubs, plus the cafés and restaurants of Baslow are all within easy walking distance.
We have access to the hut and barn.
The Hut: 12 beds and costs £14 per night. The hut comes with a fully stocked kitchen, beds and a solid fuel stove. Attendees will require sleeping bag and pillow.
The Barn: A very basic overflow with a platform accessed via a ladder. We will open spaces for the barn at £7 per night once the hut itself is full. Attendees will need to bring a sleeping mat and use kitchen/bathroom facilities in the hut.
