Our late May Bank Holiday meet is to the beautiful coast of Northumberland. This area rarely visited by Rockhoppers has plenty to offer.
The coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We're staying in Belford, a couple of hours walk from Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle. Alnwick is located just south. The beaches are stunning and has become a hot spot for surfing and birdwatching.
Bouldering - Everyone knows that Font is the Northumberland of France. The spots of Kyloe-in-the-Woods and Bowden are super close.
Trad - So much trad all around Northumberland.
Walking - As well as coastal walks the underrated Cheviot hills are closeby.
We're staying at Belford Bunkhouse. There's only space for 16 but we could possibly add some campers.
We might buy a load of Lumo train tickets in advance for some Rockhoppers and hire cars - TBC.
